Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George III mahogany card table is an eighteenth-century piece of gaming furniture produced in Britain during the reign of King George III. These tables feature a hinged top that folds open to provide a gaming surface, while functioning as a decorative console or side table when closed.

Georgian card tables were typically constructed from dense mahogany timber, often featuring oak or pine secondary woods. Frame construction relied on hand-cut mortise and tenon joinery, dovetail drawer joints, and brass rule hinges designed to support the fold-over top.

Authentic period pieces display evidence of hand craftsmanship, including irregular saw marks on underside surfaces, hand-cut dovetails, and age-appropriate wear to the timber finish. Original gate-leg or swing-leg mechanisms and period-correct brass hardware also indicate authenticity.

When folded, the table functions effectively as an entryway console, hallway table, or sofa table. Positioning modern table lamps, contemporary ceramics, or framed artwork on the top creates a balanced juxtaposition between historical and modern design elements.

Dust the wood regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish annually to maintain the timber patination. Position the furniture away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage, warping, and finish fading.
