Antique Art Nouveau Mahogany Hanging Cupboard.

An incredibly rare hanging cupboard in superb original condition.

Here we have this beautiful example of an extremely rare Edwardian (circa 1890) small Mahogany 2 door and 3 descending drawer wall hanging cupboards made in the Art Nouveau style. The cabinet is made from solid Mahogany, presented in superb condition throughout and will make a charming addition to any room. To the top of this cabinet is a simple rear up-stand, which sits at the back of the top shelf which is solid Mahogany with a moulded detailing to the underside. The sides have a lovely dropped shape which flows beautifully to its lower shaped frieze incorporating two central shaped brackets. The cabinet is flanked by two lovely fielded panel doors which are both locking via its original brass lever locks and key. The doors are complete with their original brass dropper handles incorporating the escutcheon. In the centre are 3 descending high quality mahogany sided dovetail constructed drawers each with their own lovely little brass plate dropper handle drawers which are original to the piece.

Unlocking and opening the two doors reveal a simple interior with removable shelves to the centre. The cabinet offers useful storage and organisation for small items complete with a top shelf for displaying ornaments, flowers or oddments. This cupboard is in an outstanding original condition featuring its original beautiful lightly faded French polished finish with a lovely rich Mahogany colour. We have just carefully cleaned and waxed this cupboard, maintaining its original patina whilst giving a lovely natural sheen. Please note; This item is in fantastic condition for its age as shown by the photographs. Being an antique item of this age there are obviously small marks, scratches and dents. However, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character to a piece.
