Late C19th / early C20th Chinese Qing Dynasty carved hardwood rectangular altar table .
Carved huali altar table with pierced and carved lateral and end friezes , raised on square end supports with carved feet detail. Of traditional design rectangular top with a central ‘floating’ panel.
Of rare collapsible design with skilfully made numbered joints and mitres allowing the table to be disassembled for ease of transportation.
In excellent original condition with a rich colour and patina. Some minor historic marks to top and a small shrinkage gap to ‘floating’ panel top commensurate with age .
A smart Chinese hardwood table of good height , scale and proportions, suitable for use as a console table or for displaying objects.
