Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in Britain during the reign of King William IV between 1830 and 1837, these tables bridge the late Regency and early Victorian periods, characterised by substantial proportions, architectural pedestals, and fine flame mahogany veneers.

Furniture makers during the 1830s primarily utilised solid mahogany alongside figure-rich flame mahogany veneers laid over solid pine or oak carcases, finished with natural oil or French polish.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints, original saw marks on secondary structural timbers, heavy mahogany construction, and hand-carved decorative elements such as scrolled corbels or acanthus leaves.

Position the table in an entryway or hallway beneath a large framed mirror, balancing the deep wood tones with modern table lamps, ceramic vases, or neutral marble decorative objects.

Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a clear beeswax polish once or twice per year, keeping the timber away from direct heat sources and prolonged sunlight.
