Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Hepplewhite style furniture originated in late 18th-century England, named after designer George Hepplewhite. It is recognised for its light, Neoclassical proportions, straight tapered legs, delicate wood inlays, and elegant geometric drawer arrangements.

Georgian dressing tables were predominantly constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, often incorporating secondary woods such as oak or pine for drawer linings. Decorative elements frequently featured satinwood inlays, boxwood stringing, and solid brass drawer pull handles.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, irregular shrinkage marks in the timber, and genuine period hardware attachment marks on the drawer interiors. Look for characteristic square tapered legs, light satinwood or marquetry inlays, and an arched kneehole construction.

These compact tables serve multiple functions in contemporary schemes, working effectively as bedroom vanity units, hallway console tables, or slim writing desks. Pair the warm mahogany tones with a modern table lamp, contemporary framed artwork, or a simple decorative mirror.

Dust mahogany furniture regularly using a clean, soft microfibre cloth following the wood grain. Protect the timber finish by applying a thin layer of natural beeswax polish once or twice a year, and position the piece away from direct sunlight and radiators to prevent wood warping.
