Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A William IV bracket clock is a spring-driven table clock produced in Britain during the reign of King William IV, from 1830 to 1837. These timepieces bridge the Regency and Victorian eras, characterised by architectural wooden cases and complex internal striking or repeating mechanisms.

Cases were typically built from quality timbers such as flame mahogany or rosewood, often enhanced with brass inlay and hand-carved foliate details. Internal movements were crafted using cast brass plates, steel arbors, and glass-fronted dials.

Authentic period examples exhibit hand-cut dovetail joints on the casing, natural brass oxidisation, and hand-carved wood details. Examining the mechanical movement reveals fusee drive systems, period maker engravings on the backplate, and original key-winding arbors.

Place the clock as a central accent on a fireplace mantelpiece, library shelf, or console table. Combining rich timber cases with light walls, modern art, or contemporary glassware creates an engaging contrast between historical and modern elements.

Dust the exterior gently with a microfibre cloth and apply beeswax sparingly to protect the wood finish. Keep the clock away from direct heat sources or damp environments, and have the mechanical movement lubricated by a professional horologist every five years.
