Description

Head of a Bourgeois in a Top Hat after Honore Daumier, (Tete de bourgeois au chapeau haut-de-form) cast by Claude Valsuani. Marks to base ‘E2’ (indicates 2nd trial piece and therefore unique), ‘hD’ (for Honore Daumier), and stamped cachet ‘Cire, C Valsuani, Perdu’.

The second trial proof prior to the numbered edition of 30 pieces. Casting commenced in 1929 and continued until 1952.
