Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Animalier movement emerged in 19th-century France, characterized by artists who specialized in the realistic and anatomically accurate depiction of animals, particularly horses, dogs, and wildlife, often cast in bronze.

These sculptures were typically cast using either the lost-wax (cire perdue) or sand-casting method, followed by hand-chasing to refine surface details and the application of chemical patinas to achieve specific tones before being mounted on stone or marble bases.

Authentic pieces are identified by evaluating the quality of the chasing work, foundry stamps, artist signatures, seam lines from casting, chemical patination wear patterns, and the historic construction of the mounting assembly beneath the base.

A substantial bronze sculpture functions best as a central accent on a dark wood sideboard, within a deep alcove, or positioned on a executive office desk alongside warm, subdued lighting to highlight its surface texture.

Dust the item regularly using a soft, dry lint-free cloth or soft bristle brush. Avoid water and chemical cleaners on patinated bronze, and preserve the finish by applying a thin layer of neutral microcrystalline wax once a year.
