Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian kneehole side table is an 18th-century piece of furniture featuring a central recessed arch or opening to allow seating, flanked by drawers or cupboards, commonly used as a writing desk or dressing table.

Georgian cabinetmakers primarily used solid Cuban or West Indian mahogany, frequently accented with satinwood or boxwood crossbanding, pine secondary drawer linings, and cast brass handles.

Authentic George III pieces display hand-dovetailed drawer joints, hand-sawn secondary timber on drawer bottoms, natural shrinkage marks, and original brass fittings or castors appropriate to the late 18th-century period.

A Georgian kneehole desk functions well in a modern hallway or home office, paired with contemporary table lamps, minimalist artwork, or a simple desk chair to contrast classic woodwork with sleek textures.

Maintain antique mahogany by dusting regularly with a soft cloth, applying a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year along the grain, and keeping the piece away from direct sunlight or extreme heat sources.
