How do I care for wood panel art?

Keep wooden panels away from direct sunlight and sudden shifts in temperature or humidity to prevent the timber from warping or splitting. Dust the surface gently with a dry, soft cloth and avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials on painted or carved areas.

Can I hang these panels directly on the wall?

Most pieces designed as wall art or decorative panels arrive equipped with hanging hardware or suitable framing for immediate display. Heavier carved architectural panels require secure wall anchors and professional installation to support their weight safely.

How do I distinguish an oil on panel from canvas?

Look closely at the edges or surface of the piece to identify a rigid wooden board rather than flexible woven fabric. Wooden panels often display the natural grain or texture of the timber on the reverse side.

What periods do these wood panels come from?

The selections span from earlier centuries up through the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, including works from the 1800s, 1900s, and mid-century decades. Each period reflects distinct artistic movements, from traditional landscape painting to folk art and decorative revival styles.
