How do I hang heavy oil paintings?

Ensure your wall fixings match the weight of the frame and the canvas or wood panel. Secure screws directly into wall studs or utilise appropriate cavity anchors. Check that picture wire and D-rings on the reverse are structurally sound before mounting the artwork securely at eye level.

What periods do these paintings cover?

The available selection spans from nineteenth century botanical watercolours and early oil paintings to mid twentieth century impressionist floral canvases. Works reference earlier Dutch golden age traditions alongside Victorian studies and later mid century modernist interpretations.

How should I care for watercolours?

Keep works on paper away from direct sunlight to prevent the fading of delicate watercolours and gouache pigments. Maintain stable room humidity to protect the paper support. Display watercolours behind glass with acid free mounts to separate the paper from the glazing material.

Are these works signed by artists?

Many of the oil paintings and watercolours feature artist signatures or attributions recorded in the title details. Signed pieces often provide a direct link to known painters. Unsigned works rely on stylistic evidence, technique and period materials to indicate their origin and approximate date.
