How should I hang framed silk rugs?

Framed silk textiles require mounting away from direct sunlight to prevent fading of the fibres and dyes. Stable indoor humidity protects both the textile and the wood frame. Ensure the hanging hardware matches the weight of the giltwood or wooden frame provided.

Are the signatures on these artworks verified?

Many pieces feature visible signatures, inscriptions, or contemporary framing notes identifying the subject and the artist. Attributions rely on stylistic comparison and historical records. Documentation within titles often links works to specific painters or recognised artistic circles.

What subjects appear in these paintings?

Subjects include named naval vessels, historic warships, and portraits of admirals, captains, and royalty. Scenes also capture specific harbours and maritime deployments. Selected works extend to commercial advertisements and traditional regional textiles from overseas.
