How do I choose the right size for my hallway?

Consider the ceiling height and the width of the passageway when selecting a fixture. Smaller bag chandeliers and dome top designs measuring under ten inches suit standard corridor proportions without obstructing movement. Ensure there is adequate clearance beneath the lowest hanging crystal or drop for people walking underneath. Compact flush or semi flush fittings work best in low ceiling hallways.

Are these lights suitable for modern wiring?

Many vintage and antique fixtures are rewired to meet contemporary electrical standards while retaining their original metal and glass components. Professional installation ensures that the weight of the brass and crystal is safely supported. Check the lamp holder type and maximum wattage recommendations before fitting modern LED or incandescent bulbs. Some pieces accommodate single bulbs while others feature multiple light configurations.

How do I clean and maintain a crystal light?

Regular dusting with a soft microfibre cloth keeps glass drops and crystal beads bright and clear. For deeper cleaning, delicate components can be wiped in situ with a mild solution. Avoid using harsh chemical sprays that might damage antique brass, chrome, or gilt surfaces. Securely fasten any loose wire pins holding the glass drops during the cleaning process.
