How do I clean bronze sets?

Dust the surfaces gently with a soft dry cloth to protect the original patination and gilding. Avoid chemical polishes that can strip away historic finishes. Keep pieces away from direct moisture and damp environments to prevent oxidation and metal degradation.

Are these sets wired for electricity?

Many wall lights and candelabra have been adapted for modern electrical use over time. Some retain older wiring that requires professional inspection before installation. Check individual pieces to determine if they need rewiring to meet current safety standards.

What periods do these pieces date from?

The pieces span the nineteenth century and early twentieth century, with a strong representation of Victorian and Edwardian eras. French ateliers produced the majority of these matched groupings. Design motifs help anchor specific decades, shifting from Neoclassical and Rococo to Art Nouveau.

Can I mix different decorative sets?

Matching sets are designed to display together as a cohesive unit on walls or mantelpieces. Combining disparate styles can disrupt the visual harmony of a room. Stick to unified groupings where the material and period align closely.
