How do I clean the marble top?

Wipe the stone surface using a soft cloth dampened with warm water and mild, pH-neutral soap. Avoid acidic cleaners or vinegar, which can etch the polished finish. Dry the marble thoroughly after washing to prevent water spots and maintain the natural sheen of the stone.

Can I remove the marble top for moving?

Most marble slabs rest freely on top of the wooden carcass, held in place by their own considerable weight. Lifting the stone off first makes transporting the heavy base much safer and easier. Some larger Victorian pieces may require two people to lift the heavy stone safely without chipping the polished edges.

Where should I place a mirrored buffet?

Position the piece against a sturdy interior wall where it can support heavy weight without tipping. Placing it opposite a light source will help the mirrored back reflect brightness into the room. Ensure the floor is level so the heavy timber frame and marble slab settle evenly without putting stress on the joints.
