The movement is protected by an inner metal cover.The watch measures 37mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 18kt gold and there are Continental hallmarks on the back of the watch. The case is in good condition, just a couple of small knocks to the bezel and a slight unevenness to the case back.The lens is in good condition.The dial is signed Formida, a brand name registered by Pierre Nicolet of Tramelan, Switzerland, in 1944. The dial is in its original finish and it is in good condition with just light marking, feuille shaped hands, a red chronograph hand and two subsidiary dials, one for constant seconds and the other to record up to 45 minutes. The recording dial has large markers at three, six and nine minutes. These were aimed at the business man who made international telephone calls which were very expensive at the time.
