Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sheraton style corner cupboards, popular in late 18th-century Britain, are characterised by refined geometric proportions, slim astragal glazing bars, and delicate marquetry or stringing inlays. Often constructed from mahogany, these pieces frequently feature broken arch or swan neck pediments.

Primary construction typically featured solid mahogany or Cuban mahogany veneers, complemented by hand-blown cylinder glass panes within wooden astragal moulding. Cabinet interiors were frequently painted or fabric-lined, while hardware featured cast brass fittings.

Authentic George III pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail joinery, hand-planed pine or oak backboards, and original wavy glass with minor air bubbles or imperfections. Look for correct period wear around brass key escutcheons and age-appropriate timber shrinkage.

Position the cabinet in an unutilised corner of a dining room or hallway to maximise floor space while adding vertical architectural interest. Display modern monochrome ceramics or glassware inside to create a crisp visual contrast against dark wood tones.

Dust timber surfaces regularly with a soft microfiber cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish once or twice yearly. Clean the glass with a lint-free cloth dampened with water or dilute vinegar, taking care to avoid contact with the wooden astragal bars.
