Description

A fine Regency mahogany pedestal work table c1820. The table has a fine flame mahogany top, above a pull out drawer with compartments for storage of smaller items. Below that is a pull out U shape basket, for storing fabric or larger items, upholstered in magenta sateen, with ruched sides. The top and drawers sit on a turned mahogany pedestal and platform, leading to outswept sabre legs and lion paw castors. The mahogany platform is embellished with carved reeded panels and rings. While it is a fine piece of furniture it is also sturdy, with pleasing proportions and in good condition.
