Description

Late C19th Chinese Qing Dynasty carved hardwood table with inset marble top .

Heavily carved and pierced Chinese hardwood ‘hongmu’ table with rouge marble inset circular top . Carved ‘gadroon’ edge surround above a carved and pierced frieze, raised on a heavily carved and open-work central column support featuring a coiled dragon amidst carved stylised clouds or waves. The whole supported on three heavily-carved shaped legs with dragon’s claw feet.

High quality densely-grained timber throughout with a well-selected figured pink/rouge marble top.

In excellent original condition with a slightly mellow faded colour and patina. Minor shrinkage crack to carved column . No cracks or damage to the inset marble top .
