Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the reign of King George III from 1760 to 1820, these chests feature balanced proportions, mahogany construction, hand-cut dovetail joinery, and classical decorative details such as fluted columns, brass hardware, and bracket feet.

Cabinetmakers primarily used solid and veneered mahogany for visible surfaces, while secondary timbers such as oak, pine, or deal were used for drawer linings and internal framing. Hardware typically consisted of cast brass handles and escutcheons.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetails with narrow pins, uneven hand-sawn timber marks on the back panels, original brass handles with cast backplates, and natural wood shrinkage consistent with age.

Position the piece in a hallway, bedroom, or living area alongside contemporary lighting and neutral wall finishes, allowing the rich mahogany grain and classical form to serve as a focal point against modern textures.

Maintain timber surfaces by dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a high-grade beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year. Keep the item away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage and finish degradation.
