Sturmans Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
The double doors swinging open to reveal two rows of six bottles to each side. The centre section with a further row of four bottles each with division to hold in place; two drawers below holding the medicine scales, pestle and mortar, bandages and various original instruments. Release peg to the front of the interior for releasing the cover of the rear poison compartment, original bottles behind. The original bottles with period labels and some contents, incudes hand written book of medical cures and potions (not to be tried at home!). Presented in excellent original condition, with some chips to the bottles as to be expected with a used item of this age. Measures 10.5" wide x 7.5" deep x 9" high closed 17" wide with doors open.
