Delightful Small Edwardian Silver Vesta Case by Charles Lyster & Son, Chester 1901

1900 - 1920
Description

This very pretty small Edwardian silver vesta case is dated Chester 1901 . The solid silver body engraved with foliate decorations surrounding a vacant cartouche to the front. The back with conforming decorations. The sprung hinged cover with ring attachment.

The inner lid still retaining its gilt wash.

The base with striker.

Hallmarks:

C.L & S for Charles Lyster & Son.

Chester Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "A" for 1901.

Dimensions:

4cm x 3cm

Condition:

Very good

A couple of minor dings to bottom corner, barely noticeable and mentioned for accuracy.

Strong hinge.

Spring mechanism in full working order.
