Antique Silver Novelty Whistle Vesta Case

A delightful Victorian novelty silver vesta case combined whistle presented in its original box. Marked for Birmingham 1891, by Stokes & Ireland, silversmiths who were active between 1891 and 1938 working in Birmingham and founded by William Henry Stokes & Arthur George Ireland. The vesta case/whistle is engraved with a monogram and a Christmas message from Lady Arthur Hill, which in our opinion adds to the history and the unique nature of the piece. Indeed it would be quite a project for a future owner to research who the lady was and add to the pieces rich history!

Condition: Any slight marks commensurate with age, whistle works, hind to the vesta in order and opens/shuts as it should.
