Regency Reverse Engraving on Glass of Queen Caroline .

Description

A good Regency engraving on glass depicting Queen Caroline. The inscriptions reads:

" Her Majesty Queen Caroline landing at Dover on the 5th of June 1820 after an absence of 5 years to demand her Rights, Dignities and Privileges as Queen of England. Dedicated to the feelings of the British Nation by W B Walker."

In very good original condition and in the original wooden frame.

Caroline of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel was Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and Queen of Hanover from 29 January 1820 until her death in 1821. The estranged wife of George IV, she was Princess of Wales from 1795 to 1820.
