Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An Edwardian silver stamp box is a specialised desktop container designed during the reign of King Edward VII (19011910) to store loose postage stamps. These boxes typically feature sloped interior divisions that allowed easy removal of paper stamps.

These boxes were predominantly crafted from sterling silver, often featuring hand-soldered hinges, sloped metal compartments, and gilded interior surfaces. The interior gilding was applied to prevent the silver from tarnishing or reacting with gummed stamp adhesives.

Authentic pieces carry official British hallmarks, including a makers mark, town mark, lion passant for sterling silver, and a specific date letter corresponding to the Edwardian era. The interior structure usually retains distinct angled partitions specifically sized for historic postage stamps.

An antique stamp box can be styled on an office desk, console table, or library shelf as a refined decorative object. It can also function as a small storage container for paperclips, small jewellery pieces, or modern trinkets.

Clean sterling silver using a soft microfibre cloth and a non-abrasive silver polish to remove oxidisation without damaging the metal. Avoid immersing pieces with internal gilding in harsh liquid cleansers to preserve the original surface finish.
