Engraved boss to the arch bearing the makers name Wilson, Askrigg. James Wilson was recorded making in Askrigg, Wensleydale between 1741 and 1780; a well know centre for clock making in particular Quaker makers. The bell striking small proportioned movement with anchor escapement, count wheel to the rear. Mounts to the wall with forged iron hanging loop to the top and two spikes to the base. Original pendulum and weight, fully serviced and sympathetically hand polished. Measures 6" wide x 8.5" high at the dial x 5.75" deep.
