Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian dishtop wine table is a small accent table originating in 18th-century Britain, designed to hold drinks, candles, or tea accessories. The dished rim features a raised edge turned directly from the solid timber top to prevent objects from sliding off.

These tables were predominantly crafted from dense mahogany, featuring turned central pillars supported by hand-dovetailed tripod legs. The dished top was typically turned on a lathe from a single solid plank of timber.

Authentic period examples display hand-cut dovetail blocks joining the legs to the column, timber shrinkage along the grain of the circular top, and natural oxidisation on the underside. Turned details often show slight hand-lathe irregularities.

Position the table beside an armchair or sofa to serve as an occasional drink rest or lamp stand. Its compact footprint and elevated rim make it suitable for tight corners, reading nooks, or beside a bed.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish twice yearly along the wood grain. Keep the piece away from direct heat sources and moisture to prevent timber shrinkage, warping, or finish deterioration.
