Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in late 18th and early 19th-century Britain, a drum table is a circular pedestal table featuring a deep apron containing functional or faux drawers. They were commonly utilised in libraries, studies, and drawing rooms as compact writing desks and filing surfaces.

Early 19th-century library tables were predominantly constructed from solid mahogany or rosewood, often fitted with gold-tooled leather inset tops. Drawer pulls and castors were typically crafted from solid cast brass.

Authentic Regency pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints on the drawer lining, original brass hardware, and hand-turned central columns with swept tripod or quadrupod legs. The underside often exhibits historic hand-saw marks and uneven timber shrinkage consistent with age.

A small drum table serves as an ideal occasional or side table beside an armchair, placed in a reading nook, or positioned in an entrance hall corner. Contrast the historic dark timber and leather with contemporary table lamps and minimalist ceramic accessories.

Maintain the mahogany timber using a high-quality beeswax polish applied along the grain, avoiding silicone sprays. Preserve the leather insert by keeping the piece away from direct heat sources and sunlight, dusting gently with a soft dry cloth.
