Greyhound with Ball in Bronze by Pierre-Jules M�ne (1810-1879) This delightful greyhound has been captured in a playful pose by the sculptor Pierre-Jules M�ne, one of the foremost members of the school of French ''Animalier'' Sculptors and a specialist of smaller bronze pieces. He is best known as one of the finest and most prolific animal sculptors of all time. The piece retains a lovely highlighted aged patina. The dog''s ball rests on the decorated base that has a moulded edge and is signed P J M�ne. All in very good condition with only a minor loss of the tip of the dog''s tail (please see photos).
