Antique Silver Mustard Pot.

Description

Nice provincial William IV silver mustard pot; of plain circular design, with a handsome thumbpiece and a domed lid. The body bears a monogram and the blue glass liner is substantial. It is not unusual for pieces made outside of London to not have a date letter; however, it is not difficult to gauge the date of this piece as the maker was not registered at the Birmingham Assay Office until 1834 and the William IV mark ceased in 1837; also, the design is typical of the period. Good well made interesting piece.
