Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Waring and Gillow was a renowned British furniture manufacturing firm formed by the merger of Gillows of Lancaster and London with Waring of Liverpool. Their dining tables from this period frequently draw upon 18th-century Neoclassical and Georgian designs, featuring precise cabinetmaking and high-grade mahogany timber.

These tables are primarily constructed using dense mahogany, prized for its stability and rich grain. Extending mechanisms often utilise internal timber runners, brass clips, and extra leaf inserts supported by tapered or carved legs.

Authentic examples often feature maker stamps, brass plaques, or serial numbers impressed onto the underside frame or leaf edge. Structural indicators include hand-cut construction details, original hardware, and natural timber oxidisation on the underside.

A classic mahogany dining table pairs well with modern upholstered dining chairs to create a contrast of textures. Grounding the table with a neutral woven rug and displaying minimalist ceramic decorative items softens the formal dark wood finish.

Dust the surface regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year following the timber grain. Avoid placing heat sources or damp items directly on the polished surface, and clean liquid spills immediately.
