Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An antique silver table lighter is a functional tabletop accessory, typically crafted from sterling silver or silver plate, designed to ignite cigars or pipes using an internal fluid reservoir and exposed wick.

These items were primarily fashioned from solid sterling silver or heavy silver plate, featuring cast decorative handles, spun urn-shaped bodies, and weighted bases to ensure stability during use.

Authentication involves examining official British hallmarks for silver purity, makers initials, assay office symbols, and date letters, alongside inspecting the construction of the wick mechanism.

It serves as a refined accent piece when positioned on an office desk, a living room coffee table, or styled alongside leather-bound books on a sideboard.

Clean silver surfaces using a soft cotton cloth and specialized silver polish, avoiding harsh liquid immersions that could damage internal mechanism components or base felting.
