Antique English Glass & Sterling Silver String / Twine Jar Or Box - 1899

A most unusual late Victorian fine string or twine box made from glass with a star cut base, the base mounted with a sterling silver foot and fitted with a solid silver lid topped with a cutter.
 
The lid is fully hallmarked for the highly collectable Chester assay office and struck in the year 1899, a true Victorian example. The makers mark is also present for the well renowned silversmith, James Deakin & Sons - John & William Deakin.
 
Very good condition with minor wear commensurate with age measuring 3'' in diameter x 3 1/2'' tall to top of cutter.
