C19th Carved Giltwood Console Table In The Kentian Manner

Impressive C19th carved giltwood console table in the Kentian manner; of a stylish and unusual form. The original ''D'' shaped marble top in rare and striking ''Breche Violetta'' marble; inset to a finely carved acanthus and fleur de lys moulding, above the scalloped frieze incorporating husks and tassels; raised on five exaggerated scroll supports headed with carved acanthus leaves and terminating with carved ''S'' scrolls. Raised on a central ogee shaped block plinth with carved canted corners.
 
Circa 1830
 
Good condition with original water gilding in good stable order showing small amounts of appropriate wear enhancing the overall look.
