A finely executed work depicting an elderly gentleman by Henry M. Terry (1879-1920).
Henry Terry exhibited 17 paintings at the Royal Academy between 1879 and 1894, 1 at the Royal Institution of Painters in Watercolours, 44 at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, as well as 17 at the Royal Social of British Artists, Manchester City.
This work intricately depicts the subject giving a real depth of character. Signature is to the middle right above the shoulder. The work is housed in a substantial gilt frame which shows some light wear commensurate with age but generally remains in a good attractive condition.
