A Large Old Sheffield Plated Quart Tankard C1800

Description

This superb and substantial tankard is a high quality piece made of Old Sheffield Plate. Dating to c1780-1800, the tankard is beautifully seamed under the handle and is initialled to the front for 'IS'. It has a lovely metal base and heart shaped thumb piece.

The condition is good overall but with patches of the expected copper bleed. The interior is very clean and the tankard has no dents or splits.

Weight approx 700g.

Height approx 15.5cm.

Span including handle approx 17.5cm

Base diameter approx 13.5cm
