Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A late Georgian oak Welsh dresser is a regional storage piece originating from the late 18th to early 19th century, characterised by a lower cupboard or drawer base topped with an open tiered rack designed to display tableware.

These dressers were predominantly constructed from solid native hardwoods such as oak or fruitwood, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints, mortise and tenon joinery, peg construction, and hand-cast brass hardware.

Authentic period dressers exhibit signs of hand-planed timber, irregular drawer construction, natural shrinkage gaps, hand-wrought nails, and genuine age-related patination around the brass handles and timber surfaces.

A traditional oak dresser can be incorporated into modern kitchens or dining areas by contrasting dark timber with neutral walls, using the plate rack to present contemporary ceramics or ironstone, and utilizing the base for structured storage.

To preserve antique oak, dust regularly with a soft cloth, apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, and keep the piece away from direct heat sources or extreme humidity changes to prevent timber warping.
