Louis Albert Carvin (1875-1951) was admitted to the École des beaux-arts in Paris where he was a pupil of Emmanuel Frémiet and Georges Gardet. He was also a member of the Society of French Artists, exhibiting at the Salons of this society for over 35 years. He obtained an honourable mention in 1894
He specialised in animal sculpture and this bronze is a very fine example of his work. The wooden base measure 4.50 cm high x 15.00 cm deep x 59.00 cm length
