Sheraton Revival furniture emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, drawing direct inspiration from the late 18th-century Neoclassical designs of Thomas Sheraton. Key characteristics include delicate geometric proportions, straight lines, light-coloured decorative timbers like satinwood, fine marquetry, and tapered legs.

These cabinets were predominantly crafted using figured satinwood or mahogany, often accented with contrasting timber veneers such as rosewood, tulipwood, and boxwood for inlaid stringing and crossbanding. Handles and fittings were typically cast from brass.

Authentic pieces exhibit refined hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers, natural timber shrinkages around veneered edges, and age-consistent patination on cabinet backs and interiors. Veneers are thicker than modern cuts, and brass hardware often shows subtle oxidisation.
