Anglo-indian Sandalwood and Sadeti Work Box

1900 - 1920
Description

A fine Anglo-Indian sandalwood and sadeti work box.

The hinged lid is carved allover with various animals and foliage which is repeated around all sides of the box. The borders are checker strung.

The fitted interior has various lidded compartments and some with bone reels for thread. The mirror is removable and reveals a velvet lined compartment.

Brass handles and bun feet. The key is present.

In very good condition it is a heavy and fine quality piece.

Circa 1900
