Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A demi-lune card table is a semicircular table produced during the Edwardian period (19011910). Designed to sit flat against a wall as a console, it features a hinged fold-over top that opens into a full circular surface for playing cards and tabletop games.

These tables were primarily constructed using solid mahogany or walnut, often incorporating flame mahogany veneers on the apron and top. The interior playing surface frequently features wool felt baize, supported by a gate-leg or swivel-leg timber mechanism.

Authentic Edwardian examples display hand-cut dovetail joints, period-accurate leg construction such as cabriole legs with shell carvings, and natural timber oxidisation beneath the frame. The fold-over mechanism will show original brass hinges and age-consistent wear to the underside structure.

Position the table against a narrow wall or inside an entry hallway to serve as a console table when closed. Top the surface with decorative ceramic vases or table lamps, opening the hinged top only when extra surface area is required.

Apply high-grade beeswax twice a year using a soft lint-free cloth to nourish the wood surface and maintain the natural patina. Position the piece away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent timber warping and veneer lifting.
