We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An Edwardian inlaid corner cabinet is a specialized piece of storage and display furniture designed to fit flush into a ninety-degree room angle, popularised during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras. These pieces typically feature delicate floral or foliate marquetry, glazed upper doors, and integrated mirrors to accentuate light and space.

These cabinets are typically constructed from dense hardwoods such as rosewood, mahogany, or walnut, featuring fine wood marquetry, ivory or bone inlays, and brass hardware. Construction methods include hand-cut dovetail joints, astragal glazing bars on upper display doors, and bevelled mirror panels.

Authentic late Victorian or Edwardian pieces display thin veneer inlays, often featuring urns, swags, or scrolling foliage, along with period-appropriate glazed panes or bevelled glass. Additional indicators include original cast brass escutcheons, solid timber drawer linings, and natural age patina on unexposed wood surfaces.

Positioning a tall corner cabinet in an underutilised alcove adds architectural interest and vertical dimension to contemporary living rooms or dining areas. Neutral or minimalist background decor allows the intricate marquetry and woodwork details to function as a focal anchor within the room.

Keep the timber away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent wood shrinkage, veneer lifting, or bleaching of the finish. Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly to protect the wood finish.
