Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced between 1901 and 1910, Edwardian corner cabinets drew heavy inspiration from 18th-century Sheraton and Hepplewhite designs. They favoured lighter proportions than preceding Victorian pieces, incorporating satinwood stringing, geometric glazing, and refined mahogany veneers intended to fit into room corners.

Cabinet makers predominantly utilised Cuban or Honduras mahogany combined with satinwood or boxwood line stringing. Glazed sections feature hand-cut astragal glazing bars securing individual panes of glass, alongside joinery techniques such as hand-cut dovetails and solid timber backboards.

Authentic period pieces exhibit precise, hand-set marquetry or stringing flush with the veneer, period brass hardware, and original floating glass panes that display light distortion or bubbles. Timber surfaces should show genuine age-related oxidisation and natural wear around handles and bases.

A corner cabinet optimises unutilised floor space in living rooms, dining rooms, or hallways. The glazed upper section serves to display ceramic collections, glassware, or books, while the mahogany tones create warmth against neutral contemporary paint schemes.

Dust surfaces regularly with a clean, dry microfibre cloth, and apply a high-quality beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year following the grain. Keep the cabinet away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage, veneer lifting, or fading.
