Early 20th Century Shop Display Cabinet by O.c. Hawkes Ltd, Birmingham.

A scarce early 20th century display cabinet by O.C. Hawkes Ltd, Birmingham, c.1910. O.C. Hawkes Ltd were a well known cabinet maker and made shop display cabinets for Cadbury's, Fry's and Rowntree's to name but a few.

This cabinet is of unusual proportions and form, with finely moulded cornicing and a single drawer. The cabinet retains all its original glass panels and white 'O.C. Hawkes' maker plate to the front.

There is a crack to the milk glass base and the rear left cabinet strut sits slightly lower than the rest (likely due to a historic repair). Whilst this does not impact the stability of the cabinet structure in any way, it does cause the internal shelf rests to sit lower on that side which causes a small amount of play to the glass shelves (please see photographs). The drawer handle is a later replacement.

We ask that a trackable signature method of shipping is used for the return of smaller items as we cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit.
