Description

A fine late 19th century neo-classical style gilt mirror of large proportions.

The oval mirror plate is flanked by Sphynx ornaments, swag and harebell decoration and topped with an urn finial. The original mercury mirror plate has foxed beautifully but remains reflective.

A superb statement piece.

PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Lady Elizabeth Shakerley, cousin and close friend of Queen Elizabeth II. Lady Shakerley hosted the Queen and Prince Phillip at her home on many an occasion.
