Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

19th-century French glass trinket boxes are small decorative containers typically crafted from translucent, opalescent, or frosted glass. They frequently feature hand-applied enamel decoration, gilded highlights, and hinged brass or gilt-bronze mounts.

These caskets were produced using mouth-blown or moulded glass paired with brass, bronze, or polished copper rims and hinges. Surface embellishments were executed using vitrified enamel pigments and gold leaf gilding.

Authentic pieces display hand-painted enamel with slight raised textures, natural patina or oxidisation on metal mounts, and seamless fitting around the glass rims. Production marks or specific pontil scars on the base can also indicate original period manufacture.

An antique glass box functions as a functional container for small items on a dressing table, bedside stand, or bathroom vanity. Placing it alongside modern ceramic or metallic accents creates a balanced layer of texture.

Glass surfaces should be cleaned using a soft, dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or submersion in water which can damage enamelled paint or loosen metal mount adhesives. Metal components can be dusted lightly without abrasive polishes.
