A fine Japanese solid silver tea caddy or natsume, c.1890. Meiji Period. The body, finely cast in heavy relief, and chased, with a sinuous dragon grasping the Pearl of Wisdom, whilst flying above a raging sea.
The cover decorated with further crashing waves. Having an inner cover, with a multi faceted finial.
Junjin stamp to the base.
