Description

A late 19th Century Austro-Hungarian silver and guilloche enamel box of rectangular form and cut off corners. The sides and base are decorated with cream guilloche enamel and cobalt blue decorated enamel edges with an inner border of pale blue champleve pattern . The lid bears an oval decoratively pierced grill in silver.

The inside is gilded and bears some marks but we have been unable to identify the Vienna manufacturer.It weighs 6.5 ounces .

This is an exquisite box of the highest quality and is in perfect condition except for an early repair on the rear left corner panel where the cream coloured enamel has been replaced but is barely noticeable.
