Description

A wonderful gilded Bronze with an ivory face and hands depicting Joan of Arc in full battle armoury carry a sword. Signed "Bofill" to the base.

In very good condition commensurate with age, this is an excellent piece which demonstrates to the full Bofills talent as a sculptor

Antoine Bofill (1875-1925) was a Spanish artist and a member of the animalier movement of the 19th Century. Best known for his small decorative bronze sculptures, Bofill often focused on Neoclassical themes, historical scenes and female nudes and animals.
