Sheraton Style Display Cabinet

19th century
Description

Circa 1890, an exhibition quality Sheraton style inlaid display/ bijouterie cabinet, with elegant moulded top with a finely inlaid frieze, top section with bevel edge glass on 3 sides, mirror backed interior, below there's a glass section and pull-out drawer which is glazed on the front and sides. All foredges of the piece are cross banded in satinwood and ebony inlay. The base has a triple panel back board and a shaped shelf with an elegant moulded edge, all resting on four elegant legs with inlaid on the facings, tapering and finishing on an elegant raised spade toe.
